Lee Ahern studies the science of science communication. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin and a doctorate from Penn State. He is director of the Science Communication Program and a senior research fellow at the Arthur W. Page Center for Integrity in Public Communication. Lee promotes and participates in cross-disciplinary collaborations in a number of issue-areas, such as health, environmental concerns, and agriculture.  Effective public policies relative to science and technology require public understanding of complex concepts. Lee brings to the project his experience in social science research related to communications, the context of the science of science communication, using both qualitative and quantitative methods and analysis.
